THE SCREEN WATCHING INTERVIEW: BARBARA CRAMPTON

WATCH TO THE INTERVIEW HERE

Barbara Crampton has starred in some of the great horror films of the genre's '80s heyday - RE-ANIMATOR, CASTLE FREAK, FROM BEYOND. After embracing fresh challenges as a wife and mom, she returned to horror, to the feverish excitement of her fanbase, with Adam Wingard's YOU'RE NEXT in 2011, and has forged a second phase career working with the new wave of genre filmmakers - Rob Zombie (THE LORDS OF SALEM); Ted Geoghegan (WE ARE STILL HERE); Jackson Stewart (BEYOND THE GATES); Dean Yurke (STAY OUT STAY ALIVE).

In her new film for director Travis Stevens, JAKOB'S WIFE, she has one of the most challenging roles of her career - a woman whose stagnant life is re-energised after a chance encounter with an otherworldly stranger. It lands on the streaming service SHUDDER from August 19.

SCREEN WATCHING's Simon Foster ("So obviously starstruck," he confesses) spoke to Barbara Crampton from her LA home about her latest project, her status as horror's 'Scream Queen' and a career like few others...
